Activity 3: Submit Monthly Claims

The CNPweb uses the information on your sponsor and site applications to determine your participation in the School Nutrition Program and the months your organization can submit a reimbursement claim.

Your state agency requires all sponsor organizations to submit site-level claims. You must submit a separate claim form for each sponsored site in each operating month. Your organization can choose the easiest submission option:

• Online claims - You use the CNPweb to enter information about each claim into the appropriate claims form.
• File upload - You prepare a file that contains the individual site claims and upload it. The CNPweb verifies that the file uses the correct file layout, and then fills in the appropriate site claims with the information.

You submit claims according to the USDA rules, and the CNPweb enforces the deadlines.

Submit Claims Using Online Forms

To submit site-level claims using the CNPweb online forms:

1. Submit a Reimbursement Claim (Online Form).
2. Correct Claim Input Errors if necessary.
3. Edit a Claim if necessary.

Submit Claims Using File Upload

To submit site-level claims using a file upload:

1. Prepare the upload file.
2. Submit a Reimbursement Claim (Upload File).
3. Correct Claim Input Errors (Upload File) if necessary.
4. Edit a Claim if necessary.
