Throughout the program year, your organization uses the CNPweb to participate in the School Nutrition Program. You perform five general activities.
Before the Program Year:
Before the start of a new program year, your organization submits its School Nutrition Program application packet with both online and off-line forms.
After your organization completes the individual applications for your packet and submits the additional required program paperwork, you submit your packet to the state agency for review and approval.
After the state agency approves your application packet, your organization begins using the other CNPweb features.
During the Program Year:
Activity 2: Revise Applications
After the state agency approves your packet, you may need to change your sponsor or site applications. You cannot edit an approved application. Instead, your organization must submit a revised application for state agency review and approval. The CNPweb keeps track of the application revision history.
Activity 3: Submit Monthly Claims
When the program year begins, your organization keeps track of program activities at each site. You use this information to create your monthly reimbursement claims.
Your state agency requires you to submit a claim for every site. You can use the online forms or upload a claim data file.
After your organization submits a claim, you can change your claim, if necessary, even after payment. You cannot edit a paid claim. Instead, your organization must submit a revised claim. The CNPweb keeps track of the claim revision history and makes the appropriate upward and downward adjustments claim payments.
End of the Program Year:
Activity 5: Submit Your Annual Financial Report
After you submit the claim for your last operating month of the program year, your state agency requires you to submit your annual financial report. This report includes information about the income, expenses, account balances, and depreciation for your organization through this program year.
