Claim Revisions
Your organization can change a School Nutrition Program site claim after the state agency authorizes payment. However, you cannot change the paid claim. Instead, you must submit a claim revision.
You use the same process to submit an original claim that you use to submit a claim revision. However, the payment from a claim revision depends on the amount of the revised claim payment.
- If your revision results in an upward adjustment (your organization is entitled to more money than the previous claim), the CNPweb calculates the additional amount as the revision amount. When the state agency approves the claim revision, they authorize payment of the additional funds.
- If your revision results in a downward adjustment (your organization is entitled to less money than the previous claim), the CNPweb calculates the amount of overpayment as the revision amount. The next time that you submit a reimbursement claim to the state agency, the CNPweb subtracts this amount from your claim amount.
Notes:
- The CNPweb calculates any upward or downward adjustments based on your revised claims.
- You must submit a revision that results in an upward adjustment within 60 days of the close of the claim month.
- You can submit a revision that results in a downward adjustment until the state agency stops accepting claim revisions for a program year.
