Preorder Basics

Your state agency uses preorders to ask your organization about the specific commodities you want to receive during a specific months of the program year.

Preorder Response Period

For each preorder, your organization has a limited time to respond. You must provide your responses by the preorder due date. Your state agency may send out email reminders during the response period.

Product Orders from Preorder Responses

After the preorder response period closes, your state agency uses the preorder results according to its policies and procedures. In general, your state agency orders products to fill your preorder requests.

Filling Entitlement Preorders

When the products for an entitlement preorder arrive at your servicing warehouse, the state agency creates allocations for your organization. An allocation assigns the product quantities to your organization, draws your entitlement, and generates an invoice for product-related fees. Your inventory remains in your servicing warehouse until you place an order.

Contact Information

Each preorder provides contact information. If you have questions about the preorder, use the contact information to locate the appropriate person at your state agency.
