Sponsor and Delivery Location Basics

The Food Distribution Program involves sponsors and delivery locations.

Sponsors. Organizations that participate in the Food Distribution Program. Some sponsors are also sponsors that participate in other child nutrition programs. However, some sponsors only participate in the Food Distribution Program.
Delivery locations. Physical places operated by a sponsor that receive Food Distribution Program orders. Some delivery locations are also sites or centers that participate in other child nutrition programs, but some delivery locations are unique to this program. Each sponsor has one or more delivery locations, and may share a delivery location with another sponsor.

Delivery Location Warehouses

Some delivery locations also receive shipments directly from the USDA. These delivery locations, designated as delivery location warehouses in the CNPweb, appear in only the larger sponsors.
