Direct Ship Allocations
Some of the largest sponsors receive product shipments directly from the USDA. Your state agency creates direct ship allocations for products shipped directly from the USDA to sponsors. The direct ship allocation performs these functions:
- Identifies the product quantities allocated to your organization.
- Charges your organization for the entitlement cost of the product quantities.
- Invoices your organization for the related service fees (as appropriate).
- If your organization receives direct ship orders from the USDA, you report the shipment receipt to the state agency.
Notes:
- Each direct ship allocation includes product quantities allocated under one Food Distribution Program subprogram. If your organization participates in more than one subprogram, you may see multiple allocations for the same product shipment.
- Direct ship allocations use the "Dirshp" allocation code and appear on the Sponsor Summary - Allocation tab.
- A delivery location warehouse is the delivery location for a direct ship order.
