Entitlement Distribution

Your state agency distributes entitlement dollars to participating sponsors in each Food Distribution Program subprogram using these methods:

Fair-share distribution of the state agency's entitlement dollars. Your state agency determines how much of its entitlement dollars to distribute to each subprogram. Each participating sponsor in each subprogram receives a fair-share portion of the subprogram's entitlement dollars using its fair-share basis number.
An individual sponsor entitlement adjustment. Your state agency can increase or decrease the sponsor's entitlement amount for a subprogram, and set an entitlement amount for a sponsor that joins a subprogram after entitlement distribution.

Entitlement Reserve

Your state agency holds some of its entitlement dollars in reserve for each program year for new sponsors that join the FDP after the final entitlement distribution. During the program year, your state agency may distribute the remaining reserve to sponsors according to its policies and procedures.

Bonus Entitlement

Your state agency distributes bonus entitlement to sponsors through bonus commodities. Sponsors do not spend entitlement dollars on bonus commodities, but the CNPweb tracks the entitlement value of bonus commodities.
